Centre for Regional Change in the Earth System

To adapt to climate change requires a precise understanding and quantification of how human activities, interacting with natural processes, affects human and natural systems. The Centre for Regional Change in the Earth System (CRES) is a novel multidisciplinary climate research platform, which brings together leading scientists with excellent and long track records of quality research in climate change and key Danish stakeholders and practitioners with a need for improved climate information.

CRES is the result of a grant of 29 mio. DKK from the Danish Council of Strategic Research in October 2009 over a period of 5 years and co-funded by the participating institutions.

CRES Annual Meeting 21-23 Nov 2011

Carlsberg AkademiOn 21-23 November 2011 the Centre for Regional Change in the Earth System hosts its second annual meeting at the Carlsberg Academy in Valby, Copenhagen. The purpose of the meeting is to highlight achievements obtained by CRES partners and to review the status and progress of climate and climate change adaptation research with a Danish focus.

In order to help strengthening the ties between national research activities, the CRES Annual Meeting 2011 welcomes participants from other climate and climate change adaptation projects for a two-day scientific workshop, including the DSF projects RiskChange, COADAPT, HYACINTS, ECOCLIM and the Nordic Centre of Excellence NORD-STAR. We thus hope to unite scientists from many different disciplines as well as key stakeholders under the common theme of

“New ways to address interdisciplinary research”
